Wow, I never would have guessed that but here is what C|Net has to say about it:
"Of the 117 million active gamers in the U.S., 56 percent play games online. Sixty-four percent of those online gamers are female, according to results of the survey, released by Nielsen Entertainment on Thursday."

I remember reading about these statistics a while back; but while the 'MEN' play Ghost Recon:AWF and CounterStrike...most of the women players are playing hearts, and bridge, and bejeweled, and texas hold 'em.
Not quite the 'GAMER' you might expect. Now I wonder what Blizzard's stats are on M to F WoW players, after all, there ARE over 6 million playing WoW! [WOW!]
